Leh - a peaceful old town

Flying over Himalayas is no doubt a wonderful experience.

But when you get to Leh, it is another type of experience you may get: the high altitude sickness. Here is 3505 meters above sea level. :)

Leh is the heart and capital of Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is located in the Indus river valley at a crossroads of the old trading routes from Kashgar, Tibet, and Kashmir. This peaceful old town is a compact area of mud brick houses and narrow lanes directly to the east of Main Bazar.

The most attractive places to visit when in Leh district should be The former Palace of the King of Ladakh, Shanti Stupa, and a lot of Monasteries.

You can find out beautiful windows across the streets, and meet so friendly people there.
